We were founded in 2009 by former US Naval Officer Chance Mims as a veteran-owned broker dealer specializing in:

• Institutional Agency Execution

As the majority of our company leadership has served in the military, we understand a mindset driven by service, duty, loyalty and teamwork. We know that military personnel thrive under pressure, succeed because of their preparedness, and are at their best when they are putting their strengths together as a team to achieve a common goal. In founding Academy Securities, the vision was to bring the best of military culture to the financial services industry and in so doing change the dynamic of the results that a financial services firm can produce for its clients.

A unique recruiting opportunity to execute this fresh vision was provided by the contraction of the financial industry in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis coinciding with the winding down of the post 9/11 conflicts.

Academy Securities is not only a veteran-owned institution, it is a veteran-staffed institution. It is our company goal to achieve a minimum of 50% military veterans employed in all roles throughout the firm so that our core values and ethics permeate the team at all levels of the organization. Today, Academy Securities is proud that 40% of our employees are military veterans and that ratio is rising.
